Welcome to Little Black Dress
Exactly What You Need
A refined consignment boutique for all sizes and styles. We pride ourselves in having something for everyone.
Our Story
Does anyone ever truly know what they’re getting into when they jump in with both feet? That’s how we felt when we opened the doors of our little consignment boutique in Black Diamond that you all have come to know and love as The Little Black Dress.
The goal behind our lovely shop was to offer customers fabulous pieces at fair price while striving to always provide excellent customer service. We have seen exponential growth in the past 2 years as owners with over five times the consignors we began with who fill our racks with the most amazing clothes.
While providing a little retail therapy is a given, we are happy to say that our shop has also evolved into a place where old friends gather and new connections are made. We look forward to continue sharing in your excitement when you come upon a special piece that just can’t be found in a box store.
Happy treasure hunting!

Help Center - FAQ
What do you need to know about becoming a consignor?
Contact us through Facebook or send us an email requesting an appointment to bring in your items and we will work out a time that works for both of us. From there, you simply bring two average recycled-bag sized bags in to your appointment. We will go over the contract with you and once you sign we will see which of your items we think will do best on the floor and send items that are suited to another use or another season home with you. Remember to bring in items that you yourself would like to find at a consignment boutique!
What is the process for a consignors items once they are brought in?
Every consignor has their own unique code, which goes on each items tag. Each piece then gets it's own number and is entered into our system. From there consignors items are either put on the floor or in our storage room to be pulled out when needed. Items are kept for a whole season, so once you drop off your pieces you don't have to worry about them until we email you to pick them up if you are a return. If you decide to donate whichever clothes do not sell, you only have to worry about picking up your money at the end of each quarter!
How are items priced?
Consignment pieces are priced around a third of their retail price. This price may differ depending on what is in style, the season, and the quality of the items. Consignors receive 40% of the selling price for any pieces that are sold. This money is then collected via the quarterly payouts.
What is a quarterly payout?
The quarterly payouts are when consignors can receive their money from their items. These quarterly payout dates are April 15th, July 15th, October 15th, and January 15th. A consignor must email a payout inquiry in order to receive their money. We do payout inquiries as some consignors are not able to make it in every three months, so the inquiries let us know when you will be coming to collect and we will have your money ready. We work with consignors to organize a payment method that works best for all.
What is the difference between being a "donate" and being a "return"?
The difference is what happens to your clothes at the end of a season. Being a "return" means that any items left will be bagged with your name on it. You are then contacted via email and have 7 days to come and pick up your clothes. Additionally, only items that are priced at or greater then $25 may be returns. If you choose to take the "donate" route, after the season is complete, whatever items are left will be donated to a charity. Examples of charities we previously - some of them continuously - have donated to are: Eden Valley, Mission Thrift Store, Nanton Church Group, Dress for Success, and many more.
